This area was right at the edge of where the front managed to reach Eastwards before being repelled by the incoming colder air - really interesting to see that on the NW Extra radar.

As a result we had sporadic showery rain this morning while it was intriguingly quite bright as the sun rose in the clearer sky associated with the drier, colder air!

There's been a cold SSE breeze throughout the day with a maximum of 6.6c which has dropped to 5.7c now with lightbulb sunshine.

Thouroughly miserable day - dreich & windy. It's been around 5 degrees for a couple of days now. SSE wind , the gusty stuff seems to have died down a bit for now but the wind is still 21mph and combined with the cold rain it is most unpleasant to be out in. Windchill of 0, DP of 4. Pressure a steady 1010mb.
