:) Oh god here comes my lunch :)

I bet you drive like a big fretting woman though! :) I think all of the accumulations in most places will come tonight.

Lol, everyone was driving at the same speed because you couldn't get into the outside lane at that time! Visibility was pretty low as well :)

hi Ross B is there any credible data as to whats going to happen up here mate

Hello, i'll get back to you mate. I'm just in :)

Afternoon all.

Wow. I cannot believe how the rest of the country can come to a standstill with only a few inches of snow.

Drove into Glasgow (work) this morning and had a few inches on the M77. Then come homw early around dinnertime and the M-way was down to one lane each way with heavy snow. As I got to Glaston, the snowcover had all but disappeared.

However, looking very dark over to towards Lanarkshire and we have some light snow flakes falling. Looking good for tonight, although I hope the missus gets home from her work before it hits :)

I probably drove past you in the other direction

Hi mate,

I don't really take notice of the Meto anymore but to be fair it is so incredibly hard to forecast snow correctly especially quanataties of it. So much more needs to be taken into consideration in comparison to rain.

Thanks for that reply :) I was maybe being a little harsh on their forecast eh  Then again they did take quite a while to include us in the risk area. Anyways, let's hope we get more this afternoon and tonight :D

hmmm, i am beggining to wonder, will anything come of this here at all?!

I dont think we will see anything near the amounts they are getting in the south east of england. Just bn on to a mate of mine who stays just to the south of london. He measured just over 2ft earlier, and it was still going strong at the time.

Oh dear - the GFS is the proverbial damb squib...

I call BS!

It's a nowcast situation, models are horrendous at picking up snow.

However, check out Thursday :nonono:

I have been a bit suspicious about this lot to tell you the truth, there's something niggling. All this warmish air that is being mixed in and it's there again on the 12z. I think all this expected precipitation will be turned into a sleety mess. Hope I'm wrong! If I am, then we should get quite a dumping.

have had lots of snow here, though only an inch or so lying around

its just stopped again, but the radar looks good for more easterly snow here for at least a couple of hours before the big hit tonight

as for the gfs, i checked the situation at three and while the precipitation type chart shows rain/sleet up as far as lincoln, only about maidstone got sleet at 4 so i think it should stay as snow till at least the morning

by the way, have any of you seen the current 'extreme!!Take action!' warning for the northeast?

Surely they'll put that out for us in a few hours

Rumours now spreading that the M77 is about to be closed. Not good news since commuters wont be able to get home on the train because of that crash last week!
