Can you look and see if anything will happen in Coylton soon? I am about to sound the all-clear down here and give up on this :D

hmm i think were gonna see something in this area, dont give up quite yet, tis sending down the odd flake here still, and its clouding over pretty well. maybes get a few cm if we are lucky.

Doesnt sound great for Edinburgh and Newcastle, Durham etc all reporting sleet

Much nearer the coast - it's a little further inland which should remain cooler

We seem to be seeing a few flakes again, been on and off all day, with a good few cms covering. The roads aren't too bad just the drivers!!

6 to 8cm here just now , looks like school's gonna be shut tommorow , some quite bad conditions on the cards tonight here

Calum i see Ross High in Tranent was shut this pm to kids travelling by bus!.

Didn't think it was that bad on the roads in our area today, although we've had a good amount of snow.

I'm actually tempted to go out on a wee snow hunt later on if we continue to get nothing here, right up the M77 I reckon.

Don't wanna miss Corrie though!

I will give it till 9pm and then go in a big huff if nothing happens.

Do not despair guys.

It's a shame this sat loop goes dark, but check out the mass rolling in from the SE.

Right, I don't really understand that but I take it it's showing some interesting stuff heading towards Ayrshire?

Thanks for sharing :D

Clouds for sure, just dunno what's in them! Rain, sleet or snow.. my hunch is snow and lots of it. It's a SE/NW motion with an easterly airstream, so it's gotta mix with the cold air and produce something...

....freezing rain??????? God, I hope not LOL

try headin for the hills, cumnock way, might get something decent over that way.

Still, even what the north east of englands getting, it has to come over the hills first before it gets here, hope it spares some for us!

keep an eye also on the England: NE thread, that's where it's happening most now, then us.

Lots of recent heavy snow reported there

I'm about 20 miles from the border. Will be putting in my tuppenceworth when I see anything.

Calm but clouding over again for the moment. Wind seemed to drop for while, but picking up again now. Been hovering around 0 C for the past hour after dropping towards sunset.

Yeah, I work over that way, so just come back from there

Will maybe try up the Doon Valley if people I know up there give me some positive signs from that direction.
