Hey, people in Bristol.....don't be so down in the dumps. Didn't you see that flash warning from the MetO that I posted an hour back? It said 80% chance of heavy snow from 1.30pm until midnight, plus an advance warning for tomorrow.......please, don't be so dejected.

We've had incredible snow here - in the space of about 10 mins of the heaviest part the whole place was a whiteout. On and off snow for a good hour, some of it really heavy.

Have had about 3 or 4 good dumpings now, up to about 2 inches. Best we've had here since about 1995.

The direction is where the wind comes from, not where its going, the wind is likely coming from the N or NE at the moment... at least here, as the snow is coming from that direction.

the latest radar shows its pivoting.so Bristol and the South West might get a pasting later... .the stuff in the East is being dragged this way

Trweacherous conditions in the Amman Valley currently have severe weather, The snow is so heavy visibility down to about 30m drivers be carefull, Have about 3/4 inches where the snow hasnt thawed all other areas fast whitening now.

we have had a blizzard totally white out please dont let the sun come out and melt it ...just talked to my mate in barnstaple and they havent got hardly anything .. its only 2 miles away :lol:

What I find with the projected radar is that it seems to travel in a straight line and so even though it looks as though it could come over us it doesn't go where you'd expect it to if you played it out in your mind - if that doesn't sound like i'm on acid!!

Well im technically in the south West but granted im on the Brecon beacons and the snow hasn't stopped here since half 5 this morning very heavy this afternoon after a slight thaw

Sorry to bring bad news but looks like a downgrade to me.

Look at the 528 dam it runs through top of mid wales and this is will not help with direction this comes from.

We need that line to move well south for snow in South West

definately a downgrade,no snow anywhere on that south of M4 corridor except maybe on hills! :lol:

Starting here in Downend again. Last lot hasn't melted yet and the temps will only go down from here. Snow on snow......

Had a good inch so far, with drifts of about 3 inches. Oh, if only it were feet, but never mind, I'm happy to have got this much!

More to come today, tonight and tomorrow too, according to the MetO.

Is there anyone who has had no snow at all?

Hi, we have had no snow at all, really depressing, am praying and hoping that we might see some later on, not holding my breath though lol
