they have actually had sleet and rain all morning in northern france..so not too much to worry about. Plus with snow already falling here and on the ground the air will be slightly modified :)

Rain in Harwich. Back to reading the comments and models for another couple of years and hovering in background, great event for those who live towards London from here, not so wonderful here.

snow really is coming down now! I have my fingers crossed we can keep the warm sector at bay!

Really? More tomorrow? How come

Snowing nicely now, about 6cm at 35m ASL. Temp is dangerous though, 1.6C and a DewP of +0.1C!

I am now placing the band of snow from France in tree sections.

Part one is upon us with part 2 merging with part one.

Part three is moving steadily towards the SE. This is going to be the rush hour snowfall many have mentioned.

I expect the milder sector to be further East than is being anticipated.

Non stop snow since 1845 hrs last night is breathtaking.

Earlier on, I had a great snowball fight with my kids. This was sheer delight and a moment I will never forget.

Other neighbours also came out with their kids to play snowball fights.

About 6.5" up here in South Bexleyheath  . Confident that for us, it'll be all snow for the remainder of the afternoon!

I think you are exaggerating slightly to say there has been 50 level centimetres. maybe 30 .

so has the main event started now ?

50 cm has been recorded. No exaggeration

Started snowing from the main band around 12.30pm, in the last half an hour it's got it's act together and we're having some very heavy snow falling!! Big flakes! The roads later on after dark are going to be a nightmare!

I am 17 miles inland from Harwich and still snowing moderately. For now at least.

Falling very heavily in Rayleigh now, can barely see the hills at the end of my road.

I remeber one particular 80's winter in Leigh. Hoge amounts of snow, icicles the sive of a teenager hanging precariously from the gutters, but still Belfairs School remained open.

still sleet here very light . . . no scrub that getting a little bigger n looks slightly like snow but will have to chuck it down to have any coverage as most of the paths are almost clear of snow.

Whats the chances of anything heavy up here now???
