Not sure where you are in High Peak TM but I'm close to Chapel-en-le-Frith and its been bucketing down here most of the day especially the last couple of hours, again as it hardly seems to have stopped for the last three days. Frankly I'm fed up with rain and anybody who wants it is welcome to it.

Opposite end of the Peak to you, W.E. I'm at the southern end about 4 miles from Matlock. Raining again here now but nowhere near as many showers today as in the Chapel and Dove Holes area.

A surprisingly good day in the Lake District. I was in Keswick this morning and Ambleside in the afternoon and now kendal in the evening and apart from a very brief slight light shower it has stayed dry. The sun has been shining alot and it really has felt very pleasant indeed. The sun is very strong throughout the summer and in any prolonged spells it will always feel warm at this time of year.

In fact the weekend as a whole has not been too bad at all, yesterday was a bit cool and windy for my liking but it stayed mostly fine and dry.

A showery and cloudy day but only one shower which could be classed as heavy, occurring during mid-afternoon, all the rest were short and light-moderate. The showers cleared by 1830 g.m.t to leave a dry evening.
