Was 27.7c, 30mins ago, when the sun came out. Cloud has appeared now (the calm before the rain probably) temp has dropped to 26.5c

Local unofficial station reported 29.7 at 13.49. Making it the hottest day of the year.

Have any of the weather forecasts in the last 2 days mentioned such a thing, no of course they haven't.

Hazy sunshine, muggy and a breeze - another lovely summer's day here in NE Essex. About the 50th in a row, except the odd few cloudy hours and some storms (which are of course nice). Last really cool day was 10th June, which was sunless and had a chunk rain.

Been a muggy & mostly cloudy day here, with some rain first thing. Overnight low was 18C (64F). Had some sunny spells this afternoon though lifting temps to presumably todays max of 23C (73F). Current temp is 22C (72F) & it looks like rain is on the way...

Hazy sunshine, feeling quite humid, and hot in Norwich- temperature of 27C. Again, it's great being able to tolerate this kind of heat- I wouldn't have coped well with it a decade ago. Hoping that some of the electrical activity to the west might make it over here tonight.

Well despite the lovely start its turned back to normal here - now overcast with rain beginning now. A max of only 19.7c so bang on normal for this summer. Stunning to note the 27c in Norwich - that's like proper summer weather unlike the cack here. I'd be happy with anything above 21c never mind into the mid to high 20s!

Best prepare for another soaking on the way home - but this summer it almost feels normal to be wet, especially after my week in Cornwall!

Hopefully the rain will cease from making the headlines from this weekend onwards as i've heard too much of it of late.

A moderate shower has just passed through here but before that the sun came out for an hour or two and the temperatures rose to 20.6c. I like having my window open on humid nights like what were getting at the moment but dont think i will be able to sleep with the rain thats forecast tonight. I look to be right in the path of the very heavy stuff.

Been very warm to hot today with high humididty. Mostl sunny skies gave a high of 29.3c at 3pm so another hot one here. All day I could see the rain to the west that you poor guys are stuck under. We really are lucky over here but it looks like we might miss the best of the storm action later.

A mainly sunny day 2nd dry day max of 20.9c but high cloud did block the sun out later this afternoon,and looking darker to the east where all the rain is.

Long sunny spells but last few hours high cloud has increased, producing a rather grey end to the day.

Was hopefully of reaching the magic 20C but perhaps have to wait into next week now.

No further heating today after 13.49, so 29.7 was the top temp today, although more humid now, 50%, than then. Was very humid at 06.24 89%, which seems remarkably high considering the figures later in the day.
