PPN will not be nailed till maybe +36, but eastern areas look like doing better than western areas. The 12Z did not look good for snow in the northeast but good for the southeast, though things are still changeable, and some heavy snow for much of Scotland, particularly Glasgow, and Ireland at around +168, before a very cold, dry Saturday and a full blown snowy northerly at the start of FI.

thanks for the update better me asking in here than in model thread :whistling:

Incidentally, I feel the parallel run looks a bit better for snow potential, which is a bit reassuring, as it has been the most consistent model over the last few days:

Susan from the BBC looked confident of rain turning to snow for Monday as a cold front slides down the Country though wouldnt eloborate how much.

I woould think at this time it wouldnt be a great deal apart from Wednesday or Thursday's snow..

On the chart it looked as though it would also spread into the Midlands for Monday..

this might be old news but I havent been able to log on :whistling:

Netweather obviously having an allergic reaction to some of the crap posted on here today

Let's hope the ECM will silence the doubters for about 20 minutes.

If you come back complaining that this run isn't good enough then I despair!

What is wrong with net weather at the moment? i Have only just been able to connect to the site.

I notice on met office site they have got snow down to 200m for mountain forecasts yet on the regional/national just says rain? If snow can fall so low on brekon beakons then surely i could see snow at 300m wed/thur?cc_confused.gif

Depends on PPN, you may see some snow, but the East is cleary more favourable to accumilations, Great ECM and GFS runs, but UKMO needs to get with the times

Haha awesome. That gives me slightly more hope of seeing some sleet tomorrow in the showers. Although upper temperatures seem to be a little high hmm, was you up quite high?

Personally, I think ECM looks much better than GFS for widespread snow potential, though the ECM +240 does end the spell rather impetuously, I wouldn't mind if we had the kind of snowfall shown up to then!

Well i'm on a hill , not directly on the coast. I have known us to have heavy snow here with about 5cm while in herne bay/whistable nothing on the ground.

It was most likely to be the intensity of that shower , dragged the temps down enough to turn it to sleet i expect
