Here near Loughborough we had a yellow 'be aware' METO warning all day yesterday and today we have an orange 'be prepared'. Well I've been aware and prepared for the possibility of snow for 10 days now and all I've seen is a few brief flurries. And guess what - Sunday's METO yellow warning covers everywhere west and south of Leicestershire. That's the price you pay for living slap-bang in the middle of the country.

I'm sliding into a serious depression....I need a snow :whistling: I really got excited by all the talk of repeating 1981, 1962/63 etc. and we have had no more that a couple of flurries. No snow on the ground, none in the air and I can't see any heading this way. 8)

Just a light sprinkling yesterday from one graupel shower and thats all we've had. The sunshine and a sleet shower today finished that off so you'd never know anything happened. I try not to get disappointed with stuff like this, but I just cant for the life of me believe in an easterly cold enough that our area missed out. Its absolutely baffling.

I feel a bit guily coming on here because we did at least have some....even if it was nowhere near what we were hoping for and, dare I said, led to expect.

The snow that comes into Anglia on these occasions very often splits to the east and to the west of us. I feel like the "Snoker"....inches to the left of me, inches to the right, here I am stuck in the middle with a dusting!

Lots of no from last night, so the other half's a bit miffed. On the other hand today I've driven from work near Guildford via Petworth, Haywards Heath, Heathfield and Rye and it's been snow all the way apart from the last half dozen miles

However there's been the odd flurry on Romney Marsh this afternoon so it might be white in the morning for SWMBO.

It always seems that we'll be getting some "tomorrow" or "the day after tomorrow", but it never happens....... :)

Following the much-vaunted notherly frontal snow event today, during which I blinked and missed, I now have about 30 cm of snow – measured horizontally. I would need an electron microscope to measure vertical depth.

Which reminds me, whatever happened to SF’s classic ‘how to measure snow’ guide?

Last night we actually had about 2mm of snow which immediately turned to slush, so technically we are no longer members of The No Snow Club but you'd need a magnifying glass to prove it.

Hi All,

No snow from an easterly, no snow from a northerly.

I appreciate I live in London but do feel deflated and mislead by some of the forecasts that were given.

If we can't get any from these temps then I really don't hold much hope for the rest of the winter. A bit dramatic I know but to get nothing from Fridays easterly was unbeleviable.
