0.9C now, down she goes! It's totally bizarre to be talking about getting sub zero temperatures in a seaward breeze - it must be powerful cold airmass.

Definitely -2C by midnight I think

Just had a look at the Midlands thread, it's their turn to moan, seems that some lucky ones have snow but some also have rain or nothin' at all :help:

Oh well. It was actually snowgrains. They have stuck to frozen surfaces.

It's really strange that you say that , we have a combi boiler and our output flue(is that how you spell it?) expels a lot of steam, and that can condense into very small ice/snow flakes given the right conditions

Just reached the magical 0.0c temp again...

Today in Manchester it went from snow to rain to sleet to clear skies. I doubt the minimum of -7.5c last night will be challenged, but -5c is on the cards. Currently -0.1c.

multiply your boiler output by a factor of several million, and you have Fiddlers Ferry steam!

Lol, true, but here it's been dropping consistently and now it's at -0.8c! Ice has now begun to form on the roads, it's going to be treacherous tomorrow morning.

I'm gonna have to call it a day soon, this weather/snow watching has exhausted me , from a perfect winter wonderland up until 3pm it has descended into a normal Wet Wigan day.......but these thing have to be put into perspective..if someone had offered me a few days like we have just experienced then i would have bitten off their hand, and we've still got more to come , especially if you believe the charts and the METO/BBC, winter 2009/10 could yet be one to go down in the record books
