Really heavy shower now-trouble is I don't know what of! It's white, not hail but coming down vertically and noisy....heheheh.

I know we haven't had snow for ages, but I can't remember snow being noisy.

ps my wife thinks I'm effing mad standing out in these showers!

The latest radar is a bit more promising! The showers in the south of the region seem to have formed a line and intensified a bit.

Kevin is there any organized featurs in the mix for today?

:)

The Met Office seems to have dropped the troughs going through our region.

A case of looking at the radar and satellite pics todays

Here's the satellite

I don't think anywhere is getting the propper snow full on.

One shower is moderate snow

The next is EXTREMLEY heavy grauple. It's almost blizzard category.

Will only help the snow to stick later!

Just drove to Irlam from Ashton clockwise ont he M60 past trafford park etc. Its down to 1 lane somtimes 2 and if u have big steal Balls then u can use the 3rd lane. Extremly Icey out there. The rain from lastnight has defo frozen under the snow cover. Be very very careful if your driving in this today. I had several moments ont he way in and ill have to make the return trip later today. None of the main raods on my route out of ahston and onto the M60 had been gritted 10mph jobbie

Still -4c here. Showers are the order for the rest of today. Hopefully some beefy ones. Organised band seems to be forming out in the Irish Sea.

The latest bbc24 forecast with Alex Deakin looked quite good. The showers will continue all day with the afternoon seing the main body of action!

Tonight will also be snowy with the showers forming a line just north of Manchester.

Some areas could see good accumulations from this!

well, light snow is falling now but nothing much.

The problem I have is that my flat looks to the east so on days like today I can't see what's coming! haha
