Could be the biggest snow event in these parts for years if the showers stay as snow and not turn sleety/rainy

Just had grainy snow so far, waiting for some bigger flakes.

it looks very marginalised at the moment, certain areas getting a dumping

and im very happy that for once, my area looks to be getting it:yahoo:

All the action seems to be to the North and South of us both, this afternoon we should be in the firing line!

Frustrating isn't it. Its actually getting brighter here out to the west, there's 2 lines of showers one coming in over south Cumbria and the other coming over Southport/Liverpool and us stuck in the middle

OMG the airport is seriously considering closing running out of grit very quickly

Ltest from the Man Airport weather centre is for Snow showers to become heavier and

Merge to give longer outbreaks of snow into the evening and overnight.

Temperature around 2C but not sure of this as my thermometer has been temperamental, Sun peeking through and melting some of the snow on roofs.

The south lakes and north lancs areas are getting some very heavy snow still, the radar is looking really good at the moment.

Hmmm not had any in the past two hours here, Perhaps the Lune Valley snow shield has decided to rear it's ugly head after all laugh.gif

EDit: Oooft tell a lie, Some light sleet has appeared...

Radars showing exactly what was expected now. Showers merging together to give more organised bands of snow. Lots more out in the sea aswell. This could be a rich conveyor belt for us this afternoon.

The temp has risen to 0.0c which is a bit worrying, it's snowing heavy but yesterday at this temp it was sleety...anybody know if dew points are forecast to rise?

It's a moderate rate of snowfall here, the rain washed it all away last night so this is a delightful surprise. The hens and one of the cats are unimpressed, but the other one went ballistic! My lovely boy is out making snow sculptures - it's the decent building stuff here. :yahoo:

here's hoping it sticks for a few days!
