In Lancaster, have had nothing really for the past three hours, all the precip is Skirting to the North, A thaw has set in here as well, Paths and cars beginning to reappear. Looking out over the radar to see if the current precip to the North and East of The Isle of Man can make it here. Temperature now 2.3C, needs to get down! A really biting wind however.

What do we think about the temperatures/Dew points? Will they fall generally as the day wears on and the sun goes down? Or is it purely down to local variations and distance from the coast? Thanks

CL

Any snow on the ground is rapidly melting now, temperature 4C with a very strong west-northwesterly wind.

Can anyone more knowledgeable than me explain how we always get showers here in a W/SW/NW wind direction at any other time of the year. Today the wind is W/SW and up to now we have had 1 hail /snow shower early morning and another hail/rain shower 5 mins ago. Bad luck/sods law any explanations welcome.

None stop very heavy snow for 30 mins now. Temperature close to freezing at 1.4c. All snow topped up, up to 2 and a half inches in parts. I can see all the snow feeding in from the irish sea, and wales.

Slate grey skies here, and persistent snowfall. Pretty light flakes at present, but not looking forward to the trip to Morrisons. I'd rather just be lazy and listen to the cricket, staying warm and monitoring events fold out on here lol

Probably not, I can't see much influence from the sea getting far inland unless the showers give up.

The good thing is, it's starts as extremely heavy grauple, allowing any snow to stick further.

The big snowflakes are only sticking to the snow that hasnt melted. Snow has partially melted from the sun before. It's mostly gone from cars and roofs, everywhere else remains in tact.

1.5c. Sky looking menacing. I'd take heavy grauple over snow atm, (which we are currently getting).

What's the situation in Manchester people? Snow and grauple? Or full on snow?
