Hi Stephen, just had a prolonged hail, snow, graupel shower here in the last half hour, it really came down heavy. We have lieing snow/graupel, its fairly thick up in Skem where I've just come from, roads are tricky too

About the same. More hail/grapuel than snow. Bit of a let down up to now, normally never fail to get a decent snowfall from this set up, but it has failed up to now. Temp seems to be holding under 2c so not melting much at the moment. Hope we get some showers when it starts to cool over the next few hrs.

starting to chuck it down, just needs bigger flakes then its a blizzard!

Yes, very impressive! We are under a very intense band of snow now but according to the radar it may ease a bit soon.

if this continues all afternoon and evening I wonder how much we could get

would 10cm+ be a possibility? considering it must be around 4cm by now

After this band moves east there is a break in the weather : http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/radar/

This is where the Netw radar comes in handy, these showers can literally pop up anywhere in this situation, esp with a warmish Irish Sea!
