Well I have to say today has been fantastic here, has snowed heavily with only occasional breaks since about 11.00 this morning, and still snowing now. And whilst the wind is now switching more westerly, the whole system is sinking south, so there is a possibility that the more active occluded front currently over SW Scotland/N.Ireland might come into play later. Temp hasn't got above freezing all day, and peaked half an hour ago at -0.4C, currently at -0.5C. It's days like this that make all the model watching frustrations so worthwhile :drinks:

10123, I think were in line for that snow streamer now biggrin.gif we just need the showers to remain intense when they get here. what you think?

Just got in, was in Bradford and the roads are terrible.

Anyway a good 1-2cm fell from that shower, currently moderate snow with big flakes!

Now partly cloudy, temp currently 1.1c so i hope it starts dropping soon. Looks like northern areas are going to do well in the next hour or so. Hopefully it will be fully clear in the next hour so the temps can start to plummet. It better not all melt tomorrow laugh.gif

Don't know, it is overcast so that might be why, is starting to clear though :)

I think that might be it for us tonight - a lot of the shower activity will either head south of us or is losing it's intensity over the Pennines. Never mind, I wasn't expecting any snow today, and we've had a fair bit - all eyes on tomorrow evening for us.

Ye was a good shower smile.gif, the showers here have seemed to turn a little sleety closedeyes.gif, unbelievable lol.

Temps are marginal but here it is snowing and when i was in low ground Pudsey it was wet snow falling, so maybe wet snow.

Edit: Put the flood lights on and it's definatly snowing

think its just started wetsnow here but turning more to snow as its getting heavier

Tomorrow night looks interesting on the UKMO (which explains the warnings) Doesn't look like it would hit us but you never know with the surprises today. Strange the GFS doesn't show this. 18z will be interesting

gfs didnt show how intense these showers have become! this streamer is coming down thick! very suprised again! its been unexpected all day this!

Defo Huddersfield in the streamer.

The northern most band appears to have stopped moving south and is now moving east. Guess that could put a early stop for us having any more snow for a while.

4" new snow today :rolleyes:

EDIT: now 2.1C mostly rain

thats very weird indeed! look out to ireland! more showers going to be passing over the sea and get here in 2-3hours :rolleyes:
