one of my fav places Steve - Newquay - glad you had a good time - and no accidents - i live on a single track country road - they are deadly with the mountains in wales in icy snow

Yes, I live on one too :p lovely in the summer though hedges full of flowers, blackberries, Damsons, Whinberries and birds :D

Very heavy snow here, 2 inches ontop of yesterdays snow from this shower

Neis Clywed :p

Yup - we all lived to tell the tale - we spend a lot of time down there - it is a lovely place.

One thing I would have loved to photo - just as we were returning at the foot of the Beacons the moon was rizing just over the horizon - I know now what you mean by a Martian moon Andy - huge and orange - it was lovely. Then coming down the A470 past Merthyr - the moon had rizen just behind Cafarddfa Castle - right behind it - I could have got a really nice shot - once in a lifetime for me at least but couldn't stop on the A470. Damn - never mind - what a great winter its been.

Down Swansea for the weekend.

Choose good Day to go, lots of heavy snow showers Friday Night into Saturday thanks to the streamer off Irish Sea.

Woke up to around an inch or so of snow.

Back Home, there is zilch.

The east never does well in that type of setup.

Given the amount of showers and the troughs the potential snow amounts do seem very small and perhaps understated. However my expectations for tonight are reducing for southern areas.

That may be the case. We want to see them showers during the early hours when temperatures are at their lowest to allow snow to settle, the NAE does show this:

Out and about in Wales today - crossed the Brecon Beacons where at 12pm the temperature was minus 1 and on to Newquay in Cardigan - never getting above 4 degrees all day. Stupidly got off the main road between Lampeter and Synod Inn to take photos and ended up sliding 40 yds down a hill unable to stop - no damage to any one but learnt a lesson - any how - although we only had a light dusting where I was in the Rhymney Valley - looks like those further West had more to shout about - with more snow coming in over the sea while we were in Newquay - all photos taken today first couple in Brecon, third one just above Synod Inn and the last one on the beach in Newquay - you can see the Clouds full of something on the beach and the snow capped peaks of the Lleyn Peninsula in the background - hopefully more snow to come tommorow so can get out and about again.

Fantastic photos, really lovely. Thanks for taking the time to post them. Fingers crossed for snow tonight.

Looking at the radar I should see one in the next hour a head of the main cluster of showers thats providing nothing dies out and the radar is accurate :). its - 3 here and everything is frozen solid and the snow from before is :) so that's good

still a light dusting in the shaded areas, all melted in the sun though. Any chance we will get any snow showers tonight or tomorrow?
