Thanks Bobbydog,

so we potentially have the awakening of another prehistoric volcano! Very interesting!

I'll check his blog later. I suppose very little is known about volcanoes that haven't erupted in hundreeds or thousands of years. Uncharted territory comes to mind.

The update on Jon Frimann blog is a bit underwhelming if yesterday's events got you a bit excited: http://www.jonfr.com/volcano/

Not sure why he mentions a few days ago. He is saying that this swarm doesn't necessarily suggest magma movements.

The quakes are quite often removed or replaced as a result of human interpretation

Nebro is still smoking but it's a low level plume: http://www.sat24.com/en/et?ir=true

According to this BBC report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-13847054 many people in Ethiopia are sick from the gasses and dust. The prevailing wind is from the east which brings the volcanic dust from Erithrea.

Hmmmm. Katla seems to be very slow and steady if she is heading for an eruption soon. Another 1.7 quake not too long ago and too deep to be ice collapse. Still worth keeping an eye on I reckon as it looked like it had another harmonic spike on the tremor chart today. Not sure though as I am no expert of course
