Extent of the lava flow as of today, and the  new beach flow.

Lost track a little over the past week or so as been in Cornwall on hols.

Seems to have quietened a bit but still a fairly high lava producer. So² still high, and eq indicating magma still rising from the depths. Very uncertain though what will happen next it seems.

You would think that the volcano was near to the sea looking at this lava flow live into the sea but it's 6km's away,...incredible.

This evenings report on Volcano Discovery.

Activity continues with no significant changes, with similar intensity as during the past days, while on a very gradually decreasing trajectory. The eruption is now mainly effusive (i.e. producing lava flows). At the vents, explosive activity has been only intermittent and comparably weak recently, although still able to produce plumes rising to up to 2-3 km during phases of more intense activity such as this morning.
Most of the time, however, only dense steam plumes rise from the craters, while fluid, degassed magma continues to arrive and flow through a tube system to arrive at the new active sea entry, where a second delta is now growing.

Earthquakes slow down

Volcanic tremor is stable, at similar levels as during the past days with some increase overall today. Seismic activity has calmed down a lot, with only 10 quakes above magnitude 3 recorded in 24 hours. However, these include a strong quake of magnitude 5.0 occurred this morning shortly before 7 a.m., again in the deeper layer at 38 km depth.

Ground deformation continues to show a weak trend of deflation. All in all, the eruption does not seem to be ending soon, but likely is in its long tailing-off phase.

Sadly the first fatality is reported during the La Palma eruption...

The eruption claimed its first (indirect) fatality yesterday. A 72-year old man was killed while cleaning his roof from the heavy load of ash when the roof collapsed. He had a special permit to enter the restricted area to look after his home.

Not only does the eruption continue and lava continue to flow, today we had tornadoes forming over the cone!!

La Palma still chugging away and now has been raised from a vei 2 eruption to 3

Meanwhile Vulcano gas emissions have increased further leading to a partial evacuation of the island.

Anyone watching Afar TV Feed 1 right now, the lava river is running at a rare old speed. Difficult to judge the speed but I reckon 40-50 mph at that point.

Edit: They have changed view, shame, Feed 3 is best now. (10.20pm)

Coverage isn't the best. Anyway the eruption has certainly bucked the trend for the eruptions getting shorter.

The new Delta is growing quickly, the lava pouring over the cliffs, and begins, there is no let up in the ash cloud production.

New vent at La Palma. Doesn't look lik to an eruption winding down.

Hi @Typhoon John,it is not a new vent but an existing one of which is called sydney,...it's just re-opened again

anyway, here is a live cam of it,it looks pretty spectacular to say the least.

just like to add these two live cams to as the chat is in English,...which helps.

Major problem incoming for La Palma, heavy thunderstorms on the way, the rain falling on the ash is likely to cause roof collapses and blocked drains.

Side vent has now taken over and front of volcano seemingly becoming unstable...which could lead to pyroclastic flow.

A new submarine eruption started at Iliwerung volcano, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia at 13:52 UTC (21:52 WITA) on November 28, 2021, and lasted about 1 hour. As a result, the Alert Level was raised from 1 (Normal) to 2 (Alert) at 02:00 UTC on November 29.

The activity started again at 21:17 UTC and continued through the morning.

"Eruptions and bubbles were observed in the southern waters around the Iliwerung Volcano Complex," PVMBG said in a press release on November 29.1

"This incident has resulted in rising sea levels. According to residents' reports, the sea level rose at night on November 28, with a height of less than 1 m (3.3 feet) and an inundation distance of about 30 m (98 feet)."

Iliwerung Volcano Observatory reported ash plume rising approximately 100 m (33 feet) above sea level at 00:29 UTC on November 29.

This activity is taking place about 1 km (0.62 miles) south of the Hobal submarine volcano.
