A hint of powdery snow on the cars and grass here first thing (the nearest we've had to anything settling so far), but it's turned to light sleet and what little covering we had is vanishing fast. Current conditions: light sleet, 1.2 deg C after an overnight low of 0.1, with a moderate ENE wind.

Morning all, a very slight covering of snow here, nothing much to write home about except it has frozen and is making it a bit tricky underfoot, took me ages trying to de-ice the car aswell as it was really solid lumps of ice. A lovely crisp morning, bright and sunny with just the odd cloud. Met O have an advisory out for here for tomorrow for heavy snow showers with accumulations of 5-10cm? can't see it myself. Currently:-

No idea what the temperature is, but its been snowing since the early hours, been heavy at times over the last few hours, probably a good 5cm or so on the ground now, busier roads seem to be clear.

After an initial severe frost with the temperature falling to –7.5c, cloud increased and helped lift the temperature to –2.4c the maximum for the 24 hour period ending at 9am. Still the lowest maximum since local records began in 1991. At observation, temperature falling again, very cold and misty with light snow falling. Hazy blue sky visible directly over head. The were bright spells from time to time, but cloud amounts were enough to keep the sun hidden for the most part. Top temperature 1.1c.

Not quite as cold on the thermometer as yesterday, but certainly felt it in the wind. Mainly cloudy with light showers - sleet mix in the morning, one or two light snow flurries around lunchtime onwards, but nothing settled. Bright intervals in the afternoon. Current conditions: broken cloud, 0.5 deg C, wind modetrate E. Today's maximum 1.6 (exactly twice yesterday's temperature again - that'll be 25.6 by Friday then ), last night's minimum 0.1.
