Sunshine and showers for the second day running.

Lancaster had sunshine for most of the morning, then shower clouds built up at around 12 noon, and there were hefty showers and sunny spells until about 3pm.

I've noticed that the centre of the low has been devoid of shower activity, with the showers transferring around the flanks of the low. Over the last few hours the low has been centred over Morecambe Bay, with showers transferring northwards to the east of Lancaster, westwards to the north, eastwards to the south and southwards to the west- you can see the circulation from here!

One side-effect of this is that we've had virtually no wind!

But now the low seems to have retreated further west, as showers are advancing from the S/SW from a line of cumulonimbus clouds.

EDIT: Rain shower.

Currently 10.1º and grey like a November Saturday when Ipswich have just lost at home to Hull and you get home to find Noel Edmunds is on the telly. It was lovely when I woke up this morning though....at 5.30am. My eldest daughter came in asking if it was morning yet, and I said no, but she said it was sunny, so it must be morning......she had a point. Damn the axial tilt of our planet.

Very cloudy at present in Central London, light breeze from the South-West, this morning's Cb's have cleared off to leave cumulus mid level clouds, not a sign of any showers looking at the sky at present. Temp at 14.6c

Lancaster is cloudy with slow-moving, growing cumulus clouds that could well turn into showers shortly. There were also a couple of sunny intervals this morning.
