However, we are seeing the sun now, it started to come through after 4pm and now skies are largely clear.

Something tells me this rather warm humid airmass needs to shift if much of the country is to average 10+ hours of sun a day!

Warmest places in the country today that I know of are all within 50 miles of me. Teeside, Newcastle Airport, Leeming and Topcliffe all came out with 18c. It'll be interesting to see the exact figures posted by highcliffe later.

I maxed out at 18.4c today, a lovely calm sunny day.

Now clouded over but still 16.0c.

Hottest official reading was 18.4c at Leeming, exactly the same as my max. Newcastle came in at 18.2c.
