Hi Paul, what if the account in question is said to be by torro "more then likely the case"

It's just I saw a funnel cloud and have reported it to Tony G on UKWW and it was in the high risk zone and fitted everything and my report certainly seemed to be backed up by him.

Still, you could well be right about where gets mot storms, unless things change which they may!

Hi Mate, That is a tricky one as Photographic Evidence (Like Dee88) is the most important factor, lots of people see scud and Moisture coming off the fields and report them as Funnel "Looking Clouds" which unless we have a photograph could happen every day. I was also in a High risk Zone in the States on 8 of my 12 days but only saw 2 Tornadoes, I know i cannot comment on that day in question as i was thousands of miles away but if someone like Tony is backing it up then it sounds VERY Credible. Always take your Digi With you everywhere, I do now but since I have i hav'nt seen a Thunderstorm in this country :D:D

In relation to the Storms this year, the tracks seem to be more western when they are coming up through the Channel, I'd expect somewhere in the Midlands to be the top spot this year, Parts of the East Midlands have had 7 storms, this time last year they had 0!!

Cheers

Cheers for that and I remember it well, it made the National Press, think it was actually classed as a Tornado from Torro as it made it all the way to the ground, quite a bit of Tree damage between Preston and Blackburn.

Thanks for this Paul. :)

I'm doing exceptionally well this year; last year was awful for storms here but thus far we've had a lot of small thunderstorms.

Overall Storm League Tables Updtaed to Friday 24th June 2005, have not had time for the Weekly leagues this week as too busy with Work Commitments, but the South/South-West of the Uk have done very well this summer as have the Midlands, the Drought continues in the South-East with only 9mm of rain since the start of June!!!

Sorry to be a pain Paul, but I was travelling on the M25/A127 and experienced a T-storm last night, with one of the loudest rumbles of thunder I've ever heard.

Didn't have a chance to report it last night and now the thread is locked.

Also KS was with me, so she needs to be recording as experiencing it too.

Cheers

Mark

Adi, Unfortunately yes, I have all the Excel Spreadsheets from this time last year, and they make interesting reading. My own count in down by 12 <_< :D

Looks to be one of the least thundriest years for about 10 years to me, I did have a hunch that more storms would occur across the South West and track through the Midlands this year, Still have not had a proper Spanish Plume and if the Middle to end of next week goes kaput i give up for this year. Most of my Storms have been reported in London, I think my home location in Essex has received only 6-7 Storms this year.

Strangely I've had more overhead T-storms this year so far than all last year . I've had seven overhead T-storms in the May/June period - though none so far this month compared to around five overhead T-storms last year, this area in particular missed the worst of the August 2004 storms.

Mmm so it’s not just me then. I know that we still have plenty of time to have some stormy out breaks but its not looking that promising.

I second that Paul S a really bad year although the one I have just had was quite impressive although short lived.

By the way Paul Adi F is the one and same as Adi Fiddler for the purpose of the storm report.

Storm League Tables Updated to Friday August 19th 2005.

Certainly looks like the Bournemouth and Poole areas and Somerset have experienced the severest storms this year and also parts of the East Midlands doing very well.
