Not so much as a distant flash seen here last night so hoping this eve delivers something. Good luck to everyone wherever you are.

The fact that I will be sleeping in a tent tonight should at least guarantee some rain!

There is a LOT of moisture moving up across the channel now.

They are currently, yes. They have ony just formed in the last 15 minutes, but the main bulk of storms is not too far away, so they should start to interact or even intensify by themselves! rolleyes.gif

I will keep an eye on them and let you know what happens!

Evening,

I hope the mods will move to an appropriate area, instead of deleting :)...

I'm looking at purchasing a Boltek LD250, and Nexstorm software.

If there are any users on here, what are their thoughts on it?

Thanks!

Very Best Wishes,

Bob.

There's some serious intensity to those showers that are in the South. I'd certainly love to get among them

109 members on thread, great value for May! missed everything today, just feel tonight will be heavy rain with no thunder/lightning, is turning dark now from the south,

Also I reckon a great storm chance for the SW ppl tomorrow, not really been mentioned but could be explosive S and W of here

Two possible reasons:

1. The radar only reflects objects of a certain size so if there is no actual precipitation falling then there is nothing to be reflected.

2. That black and menacing cloud may be in what is called the "Radar shadow". Basically, If another object i.e a large cumulonimbus cloud with precipitation is sat between the 2nd cloud and the radar dish then it can act as a block. Essentially the 2nd cloud cannot be "seen" by the radar as there is the CB in the way and therefore isn't displayed. Radar isn't completely foolproof and so various anomalies can occur from time to time.
