Plenty of convection around here, but as always the showers are missing by less than 5 miles.

No showers at all in my region yet, but the suns out , up to 20 degrees now and the clouds look to have the potential to develop if this heating continues so still hopeful for rest of the day.

Tim Could you tell me where you can get strike alert from and how it alerts you? I'd be interested if it gave the heading and distance of the strikes. Thanks.

I bought mine from here many years ago when we had a weather gadgets shop, you can still get them though from other places:

http://www.strikealert.com/ProductInfo.htm

Might be worth a check on ebay and gadget sites from time to time to see if you can find a bargain, its a lot less reliable than expensive detectors like say a spectrum thunderbolt but it is also much much cheaper. Just keep it a couple of meters away from any electrical equipment to prevent false positives.

A few showers rattling through here now. Nothing too heavy though. Really interesting watching the rain develo in the N Sea overnight - looked for distant lightning but saw nothing dry.gif

Today seems better than forecast so far :acute:

Nice one mate :D

There's not a lot happening here atm. The clouds appear to be bubbling up nicely, but I'm still waiting for my first shower of the day. I wasn't expecting to see anything until later in the day, so there's plenty of time for something to happen.

slight thunderstorm, just one flash and crack-correction 2 flashes, seems they are to the east of here, but with hail for about 2 mins, will try and upload a picc, the brief video may take more time

Could hear the thunder, but didn't have any hail from it, could see something was falling somewhere but nothing here, very small and isolated it was.
