Much of East Anglia especially Norfolk has had loads of storms lately. Elsewhere its very quiet and boring. Westerly winds are no use to here. Southerly and South Easterly winds are excellent though.

Apparently I should have had several storms knocking at my door today. Not so much as a hint of a possibility of a rumble of thunder; most of Norfolk has had nothing decent in the way of storms for months and months (if it had I would have been out and about unsure.gif). I actually heard a rumble of thunder for the first time this year on 11th June dry.gif , gone are the days of early spring storms in April and May, we also seem to have lost our August storm fest in recent years as well.

Hey ho, still several weeks to go yet rolleyes.gif

Sorry B, not my part of Norfolk, and if you look at TWS's posts, not in his either. It may have been South Soffolk and Essex, but definitely not Norfolk

I don't call a rumble of thunder a t-storm. We have had just as much of a drought as everybody else. Got Tuesday to look forward too!:yahoo:

Had one rumble of thunder about an hour+ ago, looked out at some low swirling cloud and thought right, time to go outside/chase. Got to favourite viewing location, (nr Ipswich), and waited for clouds to pass over. Not much of note then except heavy showers, and then some wonderful mammatus to rival what I recently saw in USA. Pics to follow soon, hopefully. Rather pleased with mini 'chase'. Now windy with less heavy cloud and all the storm cells that seemed to have been around earlier have disappeared (from what I can see now out of my windows) :)

Had some heavy showers over Shotton, according to the lightning detector there was a lightning flash not far from here in the last 30 minutes.

I wouldn't be too downhearted, it's not as if many other places got thunder, and those that did get it saw nothing more than a weak pulse type storm. We have better opportunities to come, and we can really moan if we get naff all then
