I enjoyed my holiday in Fuerteventura I returned last Thursday, it's the warmest I have experienced out of 5 holidays there but it was the first time visiting in June instead of Sept/Oct. The temp for the first couple of days was peaking at 28c but 34-36c was reached on quite a few days as hot air moved west from Africa with some very high overnight temps and 25c being typical at dawn most mornings, very uncomfortable for sleeping even the locals said it was very hot and the usual cooling wind felt like a hot hair dryer!! A pool of very warm air off N Africa was in place over the Eastern Canaries with 850's around 20-25c+, stepping out of the air conditioned car literally felt like you had just opened an oven door.

The weather has cooled down to more comfortable conditions over the last 2/3 days with around 27-29c max through the day which is where it should be.

Not had these kinds of conditions since July 2006 so is great to finally give my house (I moved 2008) through it's paces when dealing with heat. It did well as no trouble sleeping - even reaching for a bit of the duvet as the night went on.

Now my office (tin shack facing south, no air con) will be a different story this afternoon as the sun swings round.

After a very mild and cloudy night, low 15.6c, the day dawned cloudy and warm. Stratocumulus cloud began to thin and break through the morning. At observation sunny spells, feeling very warm. The day continued fine with long spells of sunshine, hot by afternoon, 28.6c, the hottest day of he year so far.

This flat is like an oven already, i hate hot but there is only one day of it left and then nothing on the models to scare me in the reliable after that, saying that though its only since ive had health problems that ive hated heat, i used to be willing the thermomter up when i was younger, Aug 1990 a classic example, and humidity didnt bother me either.
