Back down to -0.5c now. Night night let's all hope for a very frosty one :)

-2.3c is what I predict my low will be.

You sure? GFS would have uppers rising for a time over the East. The wind is forecast to pick up too. I'd say you'd be lucky to see it drop much more than it's current level.

Uppers have been rising slowly throughout the evening. My only worries are the possible on-shore breeze from the n, nne, ne possible by dawn and some bigger breezes. I hope to get lower before slowly rising later.

The wind shouldn't have much of an Easterly element to it until about 9am, so it's not the direction you should be worried about, it's the speed.

Not the slightest chance of an air frost here tonight. Despite clear skies the temp' is 4.1c with a 10 mph N breeze. I see Brierlow Bar near Buxton is reading 0.9c but they're in an upland hollow.

Holding steady at 0.7C, although stations around Wirral are falling very fast. I suggest mine will follow suit soon.

Uppers are largely irrelevant right now with an inversion.

I came from my parents in BD11 and can confirm that a puddle was slightly frozen over and there was frost on cars and grass (though not thick frost) at 22:30.

Xcweather currently reporting Shap as being coldest at -3C although there are plenty of places at -2C.

Glasgow is likely the coldest city at -1C with Manchester at 0C.

SB you may have something there :good:

Meanwhile temperatures are picking up, as expected, the breeze has, up to now proved too much.. that said, it's not rising fast, but it's up to 0.8C

Temperatures starting to plummet down again.. this wave of temperature drop should take it comfortably below freezing before 1-2am

Holding steady in the high 7s. No frost in Cork tonight it would seem.

As you can see we got crystal clear skies and moonlight reflecting off the forming rooftop frost here near Buxton.

Buxton itself now at 0.5'c coming up to 01.30am, going to head to bed for a few hours and be up myself for dawn-break.

Bright and clear now, non-existant wind from the w. Low of -3.7c at 0711, currently -3.6c.

Grass is completely white and frozen, cars iced up and roofs sugared off nicely. Even if November is a boring mild-fest, I can say I experienced a colder November temperature than 2001, 2002, 2003, 2006, 2007 and 2009.

-0.9 the low here and from what I can see it's absolutely destroyed my garden! Probably down to the longevity of it

Rising slightly quicker, now -3.3c.

It was good speaking to everyone on this, frostiest of dawns up norf (and a bit east), lets hope it never gets desperate like this again, ey? Anyway, potentially quite a frosty period coming up mid-month and some cold maybe afterwards looking at the ECM with retrogression in full force and some charts to crave at. We will see, but for now, I hope you have a good day!

lol, imagine what it would be like if it dropped down to -3c/-4c overnight. We don't have a garden, just glistening white blades and shimmering sparkly petals currently...
