Indeed, it would be nicer than dull and mild which would be more 'truly horrible' to me.

They also said that last December was the coldest month in the last century so not such a good start. Am watching it though, Could be interesting.

Currently 4.3C and falling though cloud is forecast to arrive later so we probably won't get the first frost here.

-2.3c here now. Just been outside and the water butt is frozen over and there's a satisfying crunch to the grass. IF no cloud cover comes then -5 or maybe even -6 or lower looks likely by dawn (it was about 2.0c at this time yesterday evening and eventual min was -3.0c).

All this waiting for a air frost and it could be hard tonight (as in a deep, hard frost, not hard to get), -0.4c now and falling steadily and slowly. Many Novembers in the 21st century would not even give me an air frost, never mind in early November, so I may aswell cherish this!
