I'd take hail over snow any day in this set up. And so far it looks like we're gonna be getting a decent covering of it according to the radar.

I love Winter. :)

5.8C to 4.7C under a light shower.

Just snowed again a long with some hail.

I am now under clear skies which should mean falling temps however the temp has risen to 3.7c from 1.5c during the wet snow earlier, thanks to the westerly wind.

PPN is your friend tonight to keep the temp down near the coast on low ground.

BT your temp is now falling rapidly down to 4.3. Dunno what it means though.

Looking at the IR satellite images an area of enhanced shower activity is nearing Northern Ireland - this could be a sign of colder uppers / more instability / change in wind direction etc.

My nearest weather station on Wunderground is reporting 0.5°C now with a dew point of -1°C.

Actually got extremely light snow with some big flakes. Started off as sleet but seems to have gone to snow in last 5mins. Not settling at all. But first bit of snow :good:

GET IN THERE!

Temperature down to 3.5C with no precip falling!

Any precip that comes in from the streamer will be snow.

Amazing.

Good too hear the snow reports flying in from the Northern England region aswell as Scotland of course. As Alza reported, we did had some moderate rain which threatened to turn to sleet but it never really did in the end.

The radar is slowly taking shape now though, I would not be surprised if Manchester City centre will see proper snow falling by the morning time although I doubt accumulations will occur.

Walney island southwards down the coast seems to be warming up, 6c or higher with 7c at Crosby. Really need some heavy ppn to fall.
