someone asked yesterday how the the wind turbines would cope.. just lifted this off the BBC Live site:

Homes had to be evacuated and a road was closed after a turbine had problems with gusts of wind in the Borders. The incident happened near Coldingham in Berwickshire

so apparently not too well :(

still looking ok for Saturdays snow

prectypeuktopo.png

My uncle and gran planned to go down to Lochgoilhead on Tuesday but couldn't do so because of the snow. They still plan to go down on Saturday but really with that snow around and a high level route at the rest and be thankful and I would say they'll have to wait!

torrential rain here it is lashing down - would've been interesting if this had fallen as snow !!

shame the wind is going to be NNW it seems that the south and east will miss out again on any snow.

Edit now seems like some hail mixed in - awful driving conditions - just sent DH out for some carrots for the soup too! oops!!

Already getting quite unpleasant up here, driving rain and gusting in excess of 50kts. Expecting Violent Storm 11 in the next few hours and latest gale warning issued by the Meto says Hurricane Force 12 expected after about 3pm.

I would retain Bad Boy as per forecaster yesterday

Well that is a lot better than the title trending on Twitter - Hurricaine ....

I could be wrong but temps seemed to have peaked and are dropping now. My local station had 9.9c this morning and now it is 7.7c. Hope they keep falling might get some snow later out of this! :search:

Hmm, I had a high of 7.8C at 10:30 and now, ever since the cloud went over it's been dropping. 6C at the moment. Gusting to 55mph.

The warm sector should just about have pushed through the west now, should see the drop off in temps gradually
