London/SE Only,

Small convective potential (KI/LI) - so showers rare(ish), but where they happen, t/storms are likely (TT/CAPE) Watch out for surprisingly gusty winds (TT) and expect some (small) hail (CAPE)

Anytime from 2pm onwards to dusk.

Happy radar watching :)

Nice bit of CAPE in the Irish sea, the Isle of Man could do well out of this!

21st OWS has it dropped from the map:

But still has the GEPS lightning probability covering the UK:

This will be a good day agree?

One of three reasonable ones for many I think. Depends where it kicks off.

Pretty quiet here ATM, things should start to kick off more as we move into the afternoon.

I'm scared that, yet again, today will be a day of the Peak District ruining things by weakening storms into drizzle.

That's why last year was such a poor storm season, because most of the storms originated from the west and the Pennines blocked them as usual.. showers moving directly west from the Irish Sea are rubbish here but showers moving north east out of the Bristol Channel usually reach here.

Hopeful for a bit of action later. Sun is currently beating down so hope the surface heating continues

Just had a nice shower here. Some nice cloudscapes already and crystal clear air and visibility in between them, with that lovely fresh smell after the shower that just passed. A CB to my east and another one approaching from the west with plenty of showers on radar, lovely! :)

Pretty intense circulation of PPN with embedded cells north of the border and the far NE of England.

I'll second that. Nothing here at the moment. There was a light shower before but thats about it for now.

Yes fingers crossed for some action during this afternoon, definitely a lot more cloud bubbling up now but whether it materialises into anything significant remains to be seen.

As far as I can tell, the atmosphere over most of the UK isn't really conducive to convection until after lunchtime because of positive LIs. Keep the faith, although I think today is reserved only for a special few ...

Good luck to all them East of the Pennines....

Just had a couple of light hail showers here just east of York.

Heading back down to Nottingham this afternoon, so I'm hoping some nice convection and heavy showers will keep the journey interesting.

More excited for tomorrow and Thursday though.
