If you look at the direction those showers are coming from, the Wash always slightly more favourable position.

If you look in a similar direction from Estuary you'd clip Netherlands.

So all to do with the greater fetch across the sea.

Don't worry guys and girls the t72 gfs and meto fax show 60+ hrs of quasi mesoscale snowfall for anyone in the se part of the uk. that may change when the 18z comes out....
