Not settling as much as I'd expected, unless the band starts heading in a more southerly direction it could be a bit of an anti climax unless there's a bigger band that is due overnight. Perhaps I'm paying too much attention to raintoday

ALERT! It missed horndon!! Lol

Must have a more expensive snowshield. Basildon spent its money on the Bas Vegas sign on the A127.

Now visible in street lights.

Drawing on the spirit of Spinal Tap - my scale goes up to 14. Same amount of snow as 13, just goes up to 14.

The old 'Spinal tap' levels eh

By appointment, here's my 1 y/o Springer Newton popping his snow cherry:

Been snowing now in Bushey, Herts since 5.30pm. Consistent but not big flakes. Nice covering. I assume this is just the warm up act with heavy snow to follow later?

Starting to get nailed up here. If the intensity continues as it is then the SE has alot to look forward to later.

Fan bloody tastic!! I want the snow queen here...and soon to light up my garden!!

May not be, but the trend is definitely upwards, around 0.5 Deg per hour, and the rate is increasing.

0.5Deg per hour? lol by that logic it would be sleet and thawing temps by midnight. It still isn't right, get your weather station checked. -2C here and it's -3c just outside of herne bay but this is fluctating but not of the amount of your indication.

Central London in the firing line! There was a hint they'd see rain/sleet, but they've hit the jackpot thus far!

Radar has had me under snow for half an hour now. Absolutely nothing falling.

Yep, I'm in Rochester too at the top of a hill and nothing.

That makes me feel more postive, anyone know what direction the main band is heading, SE or SSE or S? :whistling:

True looks like we're going to miss out on the heavy stuff in purley - gutted. i've told everyone we'll be getting at least 15cm. Hope it starts stalling or moving direction!

Well i'm back home from work, snow is falling but its rather light. Next to impossible at this stage to tell whether its going to settle or not.

The difference in air temps is obvious from one side of the Thames to the other. Gravesend has -0.8C, Canvey Island is at -0.3C. So a 0.5C difference. Shouldn't make a huge difference yet but as things get slightly lessa cold later on, it may make a difference when it comes to the rate of settling snow.
