Hi everyone. I'm new here and I live in Norwich. I love thunder storms so this site is perfect for me to chat to others of that ilk. Sooooo, are we to expect any storms anytime soon? I missed out on the fun last week. It even thundered in Brundall but nothing here. sad.png

Hi and welcome to Netweather! hi.gif

You'll need to keep an eye out in this section if you like storms:

More indications of that rain and it may be substantial or at least very heavy all the way through to East Anglia overnight:

hir_prec_eur24.png

hir_prec_eur27.png

MetO alert still in place:

Issued at - 08 May 2012, 12:20

Valid from - 10 May 2012, 00:00

Valid to - 10 May 2012, 23:59

Persistent heavy rain is expected to spread across England and Wales during Thursday, accompanied by strong to gale force winds in some areas. The public should be aware that the rain will bring difficult driving conditions and, given that the ground remains wet following recent rainfall, the risk of localised flooding.

As long as the charts and TV forecasts continue to show the heaviest stuff to the NW of London that's fine by me.

Going to feel very muggy in London tomorrow, dry but cloudy with temps at 18/19c

Yet more heavy rain then. I think my area had its monthly quota for rain for May by about the 3rd!

Sunny Spring weather seems like a distant memory now. Still time marches on towards summer and when the almost inevitable warm sunny break happens, it'll be all the more pleasant.smile.png

Well I've just guaranteed myself one hot sunny break for a week in August, just to be on the safe side dirol.gif

Fingers crossed for an upgrade of tstorm potential on the 12z gfs for tomorrow for our region (or specifically imby).

Next week looks good for thundery showers too.

It's been a surprisingly active tstorm period this year.....hoping it continues all summer :)

And sandwiched between this unsettled weather looks to be quite a settled weekend coming up which will be a nice change.

Yeah I'm at 25mm so far which is apparently 146% of the monthly average. According to my nearest weatherstation (unofficial but usually pretty accurate)

Never mind the SE having heavy rain tonight.

Spare a thought for Wales, my aunt in north Wales says its been raining non stop for 8 hours and it's torrential at times.

They also set to receive a lot more rain than us over the next 18 hours

That will be the impending doom of rain approaching again.....

I'd like to try something - a kind of rain dance for the SE if you like.

Anthonyb - if you could refrain from moaning about rain for the next 6 months and just accept the UK weather, just maybe we will get a dry spell - you clearly think mother nature is against you, so just accept it and she will hopefully stop annoying you. Life is just too short.

I'll discuss and say what I want thank you very much. This year so far is a lot wetter than average and living in the UK doesn't mean it rains all the time.

I have a life and like to socialise and do outdoor things so yes it does annoy me when I have to endure day upon day of rain and cold.

Just because I'm not posting charts and telling everyone its going to be a wash out does not mean I'm moaning.

So if you would refrain from nic picking that would be a start.

Really wet here last night. The roads on the drive to work very flooded with the drains spitting water out rather than swallowing it all up.

Mild (15.3 °C) moist (DP15 °C Humidity 96%) and rather breezy here this morning, we must have had quite a lot of rain during the night looking at the puddles but only 3mm recorded since midnight.

The rain has cleared away now leaving a cloudy and muggy start; the sun has tried to break through a couple of times already. It looks as if the greatest risk for thunderstorms today will be in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

Lincolnshire according to BBC tv forecast could hit 21c today.

It's so muggy this morning, doors and windows open even with the cloud. LOVE IT..

From posts on here and charts was expecting some armageddon wash out this morning. Nothing of the sort. So very happy
