Shawbury not a million miles from Telford was the sunniest place in the West Midlands yesterday with almost 9 hours.

The weather in Shawbury is always quite different to here though, the pictures I posted through the day yesterday are proof enough for that !

And the clearish skies from 5-9am we always have here before the cloud is probably counted as 4 hours anyway aswell as the 6-9pm 3 hours we usually get

but 10am-5pm is usually always cloudy from Mid April to Late August here.

However we did have some warm sunshine (miracle ) in the end this afternoon between 2-3pm, skies turned quite threatening and dark again after though but only a few spots of rain in the end.

Have to admit - it hasn't been very bright here today. Its cloudy now and has been predominantly since lunchtime.

Lovely here thus far however this is it. Charts are horrendous in the future for any good weather. What has Britain done to deserve all this whilst everyone else enjoys Summer!

Is everyone else enjoying summer? It often looks wet in France (on the BBC news!) and other EU countries.

Generally cloudy now after the sunny morning though pleasantly warm at 18.9c!

Fridays chart is the most shockingly awful of this terrible month so far, gale force winds and heavy rain all day!

Tommorow afternoon looks interesting from a convective point of view though, however considering we never get any exciting weather im doubtful anything thundery will materialise here

dear me for the third friday and saturday in a row we have strong winds forecast again, 3 times in june, we barely get any strong winds here in autumn, sept and oct esp

that high is stuck to greenland like a limpet, like the azores was stuck to us last winter,

finally temps have got above average for the first time this month here at 20.7c today

What is the wind speed meant to be like? I haven't heard much about that.

Is there any chance of thunder and lightning?

Satellite image doesnt scream much potential to me. Yes any action should be later anyway however it looks like just a lot of general cloud and moderate to some heavy rain to me. I hope Im wrong however. These set ups are just not very reliable imo developing in the SW out at sea.

Nevertheless, a very warm mostly sunny day today which was nice. Normal crap resumes from now on!

Tomorrows Thundery possibilities look a no go now too. Just reserved for the East again whilst more rain spills up from the SW. Somewhere is going to see flooding over the next few days Im sure. Look how much rain is forecast. Rally echoing 2007 again here in terms of rainfall imo.

Finally hit 20c today for the first time this month, high of 20.1c and further good spells of sunshine this afternoon.

Outlook very poor now until Monday however with one pulse of heavy rain after another, in standard fashion the convective risk has vanished for all but the East Mids and East Anglia now to.

friday will be an absolute washout, torrential all day, but the other days dont look too bad, sun and showers, maybe thunder on thurs, sat and sun

There's absolutely no chance of any thunder on Sat & Sun unfortunately but on the positive the worst of the rain looks like coming at night for once haha ! rare event for us if we get a dry sunday!

Well after a beautiful day here (spent getting washing out and going for a walk) not looking forward to the deluge again. Wonder if we'll get any thundery activity.

Some very heavy rain on the radar now. If it keeps it up, some areas could get hit very badly. On Midlands Today they said the rain will intensify as it moves up, not quite sure on that one.

GFS 18z upgrades Thundery chances tomorrow so were back in the game arguably for now but things are changing a fair lot so dont be surprised to see the risk go again! This low currently coming our way is causing many headaches with the models.

a few heavy downpours developing in the west midlands along the southern flank of the main rain band (we just had a 15 minute monsoon here!)...I would imagine the reasoning for this is the plume of high theta-w air pushing northwards into our region and destabilizing the rain band, intensifying ppn....A monstrous amount of rainfall is now appearing on the radar pushing across the english channel in association with this most plume which may well affect our region later today, whether or not this plume can aid in thunderstorm development in our region remains to be seen as saturated profiles and subsequent cloud cover might well be the issue

Some very heavy showers on the radar now which look to be heading straight for here. The warning seems to end at 4pm, is there any chance a new one might be issued as it develops?

Some heavy rain here now but absolutely nothing showing on the radar.

Back to the usual grim weather here today, thick mist with 200 meter visibility and very dark with a temp of 13.5c!

Very reminiscent of a misty cool November day.

Last night wasnt much in the end as I expected. Today wont be anything exciting either as the next mass of rain awaits to the SW with any slightly clearer skies shown on the Satellite ruined by high cloud too. Id even doubt the East seeing storms this afternoon tbh.
