I kind of like one thread because of the way it always goes back to the post you last read and it keeps a nice clean record of winter. As long as we have interesting weather to discuss it will work whichever way...........whichever way you choose one thing is sure....build a thread and bring some snow and they will come.

5c here and you can feel the nip now. Going to be a chilly morning. Wind whipped up earlier, but has died away now.

Lorenzo\Mods... any chance the weather tool I posted earlier can be pinned to page one of new threads over the winter for all new and late comers.

I've added it to my signature now so that it shouldn't be too far away at game time.

On the subject of satellites (sp?) I recall finding this one last year, very popular and I personally love it.

post-12276-0-16367500-1351201220_thumb.j there is the latest snippet for those not able to load it atm.

Good luck for your snow and frost chances tomorrow Alba! I'm sure Northern Strath, Hagar and co will have some lovely pics.

I like the one thread idea too. A lot easier if you are looking for something specific rather than trolling thru' previous threads. That's some tool Cheggers!laugh.png All we need is a good winter season and we will all be up and running again! Bring it on.

2.5oC here dew -3.4oC. Dry as a stick outside and probably will not get a frost. I HATE northerlies here!

Oil fired or wet systems using a megaflo boiler. They used to bring coal up here but it was very expensive to freight up here and in any case if you had an open fire there was a plentiful supply of fuel under your feet - peat! Some people up here still burn peat. Most of the houses around me are new and therefore don't have open fires.

Update: Heavy snow shower here now (see pic below)

Showers to the north pepping up on the radar. Looks like it could be an interesting day for many...

Lived in Orkney when I was wee for a short stint - remember burning peat fondly; locals cutting it too.

2.0 C here, clear and feeling quite chilly. Car in garage getting winters fitted so that's any wintry showers for me jinxed!

Light snow at Forsinard yesterday evening and wintry showers (ie sleety hail etc.) for much Strath Halladale and the A9 between Helmsdale and here. Cold overnight but surprisingly mild this morning at 7C.

Monday & Tuesday this week on the north coast were blue sky sunny warm days, a bit of a bonus at this time of year.
