wetshill is a mere 7.5 miles from aberdeen but gets very impressive falls of snow compared to us in aberdeen elevation and that extra few miles from the sea are key..

Fab stuff GJ! You could have a wee play in that!

Is Norrance about? Radar looks like it might be snowing in Dundee right now?

Looks like it's making its way across the Tay, 1.4/-1.8C here so would definitely be snow. Fantastic totals, staggering really, from Aberdeenshire, just crazy for the time of year.

No, it is 2C and I think it has been around that for most of the day.

Hoping it might get a bit of energy from the Forth and spread out to reach here. smiliz39.gif Looks like the trough/polar low? has an eye on the radar now.

Ah, hope it hangs around for a while for you! Daytime pics would be great to see.

Should still be there overnight and during the day tomorrow but sadly rain moving in from the west later in the day will probably mean that it will melt.

Looking at the Met Office radar, that area of precipitation that is moving South has weakened significantly in 15 mins!

In spite of the radar saying otherwise, not a single flake observed so far here tonight. Wonder if other bits of fife have been more fortunate

Still, given it's only October anything at the moment is a massive bonus! I assume snow at this time is a real rarity for low lying areas?

Snow here at this time of year isn't uncommon but lying snow certainly is! Westhill is prone to quite a lot of snow at times in comparison to other nearby areas, I guess that is mostly down to the little extra elevation it has. Snow was certainly bad here back in the 10/11 winter but I guess it was most other places as well.

Ill try and get you guys some photos tomorrow before it all disappears again.

Snowing lightly here just now. Just a little blowing up against the kerbs and walls and the grass looking a bit greyish. Up in the North East part of the city there was a light covering earlier this evening. Might be more now?

Even a few flakes here in Crail - impressive given I didn't see any last winter!

That's fantastic Hawesy. A few flakes here too, been on for about 20 minutes but with no intensity. To be honest that's better than most northerlies deliver here anyway!
