After a sunny morning it has turned much more cloudier this afternoon.

Indeed, it looks like I caught the best part of the day in Sussex as the sun has gone into hibernation now and default is back to grey and dull. Hey ho, lets hope we aren't going to have weeks of this as I was perked up by the sunny frosty start to today.

I can just about bear 4 days of overcast skies, so endless dull grey days will send me insane.

Just had a few spits of rain here. It had been a whole 2 days without any water droplets falling from the sky... Bring back the sun..rolleyes.gif

I can see we need to lift the mood a bit in here, how about imagining this scene at a hillside near you soon?

For those of you who would like an answer to the question 'is it going to snow?' have a look at this …..

Please Note - This isn't a forecast, it is purely an explanation of Stewart's preliminary/early thoughts !

Thanks for the 'heads up' Ali. Will need a reasonable amount of time to look at this, but will do so over the next day.biggrin.png

I was thinking more that the video lasts 35 minutes or so, so need time to view it.

Blasted A12 is rubbish again tonight, so might study it now. I wanted to leave work by now too.sad.png

So how do you measure yours ?

http://metofficenews...e-measure-snow/

I have a special metal snow ruler that I use in 6 different locations and then take an average.... but then I'm sad and don't have a snow depth sensor in my back garden !

Looking forward even more so to this coming winter, after reading Stewarts starter forcast. Hoping he is right about the cfs forcast for december, showing mild at the moment. But thinks that may change.Cold snowy december, fingers crossed.

Yep Looking promising for the winter, not had time to look at his blog yet but a -NAO is the crucial thing and he seems to be going for this.

Looking forward to when the models play catch up and we start seeing some tasty looking setups. Which model will it be??

Not sure we will see any decent charts for a couple of weeks, the Atlantic looks like being in an active stage at the moment.

My only hope is that when we do get the northern blocking it's in a favourable possition for us and not like last winter.
