I never really take too much notice of them TBH.I just look at the charts on here and read peoples comments, which are often far more accurate anyway.

I never believe in snow totals before a snow event as radar watching is always the key. It's mainly as a guide. There will be surprises on Monday as the front could slow down over yorkshire as the cold air is fighting against the band.

6z gfs is well looking good for low pressure undercutting the block and this trend is growing each day. All positive this morning! Watch this space!

In what way have they downgraded? Managed to get down to 0.7c last night despite cloud cover, looking forward to the next few days.

To be fair, tomorrow was always looking like a damp squib with such a slack easterly flow, only coastal area's will see showers overnight and into tomorrow. Its pretty much guaranteed you will see snow on Monday, how much still up in the air and after the winter so far I'd be pretty happy with a few cm and MetO are predicting more than this. Tuesday is still 96 hours away and is probably subject to a few changes (hopefully better). Best way to think about it is your likely to see snow on Monday leading to a decent covering, anything else is a bonus. Be positive :)

Had to laugh this morning on BBC news 24 weather, detailed forecast until midnight Sunday then he mumbled his way through Monday and Tuesday, so obvious they are struggling, then the next weather update Monday Tueday not mentioned at all lol.

Met are forecasting snow Sunday 10pm-4am Monday, then light snow at 9am Monday, heavy snow at 12 and 3 for me, (just south of Leeds)

Brief light showers of proper dry snow since 11am, it's 3C though so not lying and a light cover on the hills has all but gone too.

Some nice sunny spells with great visibility.

Monday night looks brill for the south east with that low stalling over that area. Any chance that could happen a little nearer to home ?

Potentially there could be more than 10cm where the front stalls and keeps its intensity. With travelling to leeds for work it's going to be a fun journey home!

Out of all the regions, I'd probably hazard an estimated guess that this one (in particular E Yorkshire, Pennines and Lincolnshire) will get hit most by the bands of snow on Sunday night and Monday- good luck!
