January = 54mm

Of which nearly half came on Tuesday 3rd and most of that within an hour!

Feb = 16.5mm

Total = 70.5mm

So far around a 3rd of the rainfall total for those 2 months came in around an hour on the 3rd Jan!!

And with the LOW forecast for this coming Sunday I am wondering if the Feb total will be exceeded in 1 day !

A very dry start to the year here, with only 32.2mm so far, just over a third of the expected amount.

January: 20.4mm (40%)

February: 11.8mm (31%)

We've had 312.8mm in the last 12 months, which is only 53% of average. The last 24 months have seen 755.4mm, which is 64% of what is expected in that time.

Its turning into a very extended dry period.

20.1mm for February, 57.7mm for January - considering the dales have been very wet as per usual - don't think there will be any problems here at all

25mm so far this month and almost guaranteed to be the final total even a week+ from the end!

Of that 25mm, 20mm fell on the night of Sat 3rd, 3mm from a few heavy showers the following day and 2mm came from accumulated fog deposits last week!!

just under 70mm here, and mine is usually about 25% 'light' on others in this area-very sheltered exposure, so it would seem this part of the world, although fairly dry is well above some areas not that far away

After a very dry last year the running total for this one is 49.2mm with March so far recording 8.4mm. Although it hasn't rained in a while 0.2mm per day has been added to the 7.8mm of 'real' rain by dew from the North Sea fogs which were thick here over the last three days!

Long may this beautiful weather continue.

We're on 18.8mm for March so far and 51.0mm for the year.

1st September - 25th March has seen only 157.2mm, which is very worrying for what should be the time when water levels are replenished.

As mentioned in the other thread its probably the driest rolling 24 month period in this area since at least 1847.

Not fully three days into 2012, and I've already recorded 39.6mm of rain, which is more than some parts of Cambridgeshire have in a whole year. By my calculations, at this rate I am on target for over 5700mm of rain this year.

Hmm, you jinxed it - 47mm rain all year a few miles east of you in the tees valley desert

Disastrous March for Eastbourne with only 34.4mm falling so far and none on the horizon today to change things.

A trend developing this year with most of each month's rain falling in the first week and largely in 1 day! With a potentially wet day due on Tuesday then

that trend could continue!

Jan = 54mm (1st week = 32.5mm, 3rd Jan = 22.5mm)

Feb = 16.5mm (1st week = 7mm, 4th Feb = 5.5mm)

March = 25.5mm (1st week = 23.5mm, 4th March = 20mm)

Total = 86mm with 48mm in 3 days

I had just 1 mm of rain in March. This followed on from 10 mm in Feb and 22 mm in January. So far a very dry year. The Dundee University site shows total rainfall of just 20 mms in 2012. Maybe reading a little low but even so.

Hardly ever happens that Lampeter is drier than Warwickshire. However were my parents still living in Coventry this would not have been the case, as Coventry had just 16.8mm:

The driest month since April 2007 (14mm) in Lampeter.

It's dry here, but not unusually so.

January: 50.3mm

February: 18.6mm

March: 16.7mm

Overall to this point: 85.6mm

Given a wet April and most like a wet summer is likely here in this location, I doubt we'll be able to walk away saying this year was unusually dry.

North west of Arran

Jan 221.7mm (highest recorded for Jan since I started recording in 2004)

Feb 134.9mm (highest for Feb)

Mar 68.6mm (lowest for Mar- but only by 2.5mm)

Year to date 424.7mm.

Very wet start to the year following on from the wettest winter for over half a century, according to local records. Drier March has allowed some drying out to happen in fields etc.
