-5'C here tonight drinks.gif

Would be amazing if we got a cold shot from the north and beat our record.

Edit: (not tonight of course, in the near future!)

That low that drops South over the Uk loses definition as the warmer heights erode it, 6 hrs later it is re-established as a weaker feature in the channel. Enough energy to spill in the uppers.

Very snowy run so far, a slight 50 mile correction west and you are looking at the East Coast and inland getting totally slammed with snow.

Models starting to really shape up on a brief NE/E'ly on Tuesday until Thursday. Posting that here because it'll get swallowed up by the bizarre posting in the MT.

Absolutely IF, really shaping up for once the cold arrives then all manner of setups will/can materialise

Am I right in thinking that this wee cold snap would be a lot colder if our near continental neighbours had a greater snow coverage like what we had in 09/10 and December 2010.

Not sure if I'm right but just going on the snow coverage for the N.H. at this moment in time it seems like the mild period we have had in Western Europe has pushed the real cold way back east in to Russia. Thus taking it more time to make its way west ?

  • April 2024 - Was it that cold overall? A look at the statistics
