Radar in SE England?

Anyone have any idea what's up with the radar in the SE of England today? Its seems to have cut a large chunk it of it out.

An issue with the radar network at one of the sites in the southeast I'm afraid, I'm just about to raise a ticket with the met office about it.

Brilliant cheers Paul, let's hope it's fixed sooner rather than later! This is the time we really need it!!

It's strange, normally we get notified of any issues with individual radar sites but have had nothing today. I'll let you know when they come back with some info, and hopefully news of when it'll be sorted.

I have to say that I have been radar watching all day and didn't realise!

Just heard back from them:

We do have an issue with a radar in the Southeast that is being worked on at the moment, if all goes well it will be back on air in the next couple of hours.

the radar is fine- what you are seeing is the snow-shield set to full power....

I wish the MO would sort it out! Knowing my luck it'll start working again in April or thereabouts...

I've chased them up as their couple of hours has turned in to about 20 now... Will report back once I get a reply.

Latest news (not sounding especially positive of a fix today, but fingers crossed)

the issue is on going, our engineers were unable to fix it yesterday evening, they are hoping to have another go today.

It's intermittently displaying today. That's an extremely informal response from them however "they are hoping to have another go today" considering how much it costs to licence it!

Saying that mind, it's not working particularly well, precip is magically appearing and disappearing with each update!

Looks like that radar site was intermittent with anaprop showing a fair bit this pm, but looking better at the moment, and just had a status update suggesting it's all fine again now, so fingers crossed...
