Wow, jubilation in the mod thread. Apparently in five days we have some dark blue blob over us with a deep purple blob to the left, this I believe, in my most expert opinion is very good news. So we can all look forward to 48 foot of snow in a few days after all.

Haha,,, is that your expert opinion? 4.8cm would be nice I think

Temp now 2.5, dew -0.1, brisk wind, and my late afternoon walk told me colder air has arrived, brrrr! No longer expecting much in the way of snow tomorrow so might even get a few chores done tonight, and a good night's sleep.

If we are all honest, this was likely to be a touch and go situation, after all the cold is only just starting, so therefore not entrenched, and any precip moving down to our area would mix out most of the cold we do have, having said that, the cold continues to push during the week so anything falling from the sky after tomorrow will surely be snow?

We may be suprised in the morning, or be dissapointed, thats the way it is in UK, but i feel after Monday is when our best chances happen, in my personal situation, i dont want snow until my baby is born, but i want it so bad for the rest of you! I love snow but this is the first time in my 37 years i can remember not wanting it! :)

From what I can deduce for our region tomorrow looks as follows

Anywhere north of a line from say Harlow across to Chelmsford out to the coast it looks like snow. Kent, Sussex Surrey, all of Greater London inside M25 will see rain / sleet. North of the Thames its likely to be sleet mix.

South essex is likely in the sleet zone. So I'd reckon on the following

Chelmsford - snow (just)

Basildon - sleet

Southend - rain (due to wind direction of sea)

Colchester - snow (comfortably in snow zone)

Brentwood - sleet (albeit a little elevation here so tough one to call)

Wickford / billericay - sleet

South woodham ferrers - sleet

Danbury - with elevation wet snow.

Things can still change but the models have been pretty resolute so we will see. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for everyone.
