-6.1 in Orpington and still drifting down, maybe -7 by daybreak. I wonder if I can eek out 2 consecutive ice days after topping out at -0.9 on Wednesday.

That's weird, my weather station is recording an overnight low of only (!) -4.1 - and I'm a few miles out of the town centre.

Morning all! What a stunning morning....temp currently -3 with a hard frost and beautiful sunshine. Adore mornings like this! Looking ahead, at least it's looking to remain cold and I will await upgrades regarding the white, fun, fluffy stuff wink.png

That will be out of date in 6 hours judging by how the models are struggling.

Would really not pay too much attention to each and every BBC forecast.

Forecasting snowfall across the UK is never straight forward for forecasters for a variety of reasons and latest model guidance has signaled some changes to the forecast for Friday compared to what was initially expected 24 hours ago.

.....and he proceeds to give a detailed, area specific forecast!?!

Had to issue a weather warning to the office! Boss asked me too.. So this is what I said..

ADVANCE WEATHER WARNING

Thought I would advise everybody on the latest weather heading our way tomorrow.

Below is a capture from the NAE model. The high res model we use when weather is within a 48HR period.

PINK is snow… The darker the pink the heavier the snow. This screen capture is 12PM tomorrow:

I would expect roughly 2-3CM of laying snow by 5PM with this increasing to around 10-15cm in exposed places by Midday Saturday.

This is subject to change, the models update themselves @ 12PM 6PM AND MIDNIGHT! But big changes are now out of the question.

Thank you for reading, Stay safe!

I'm still not sure why so many in here are talking this forthcoming event down? Is it some bizarre from of reverse physcology? Are you just not reading things posted in here or is it just a moany, depressing and downbeat attitude trying to drag others down?

The reality for most, if not all is that snow is coming and it looks like loads - just get over it please!!!! rofl.gif
