The latest gfs run is good for us with the general moderate snow spreading to the east of us.If you just select the rainfull amounts, you can see the slightly heavier areas pushing up off the channel and france on that se wind. For the sat night

Morning-

2 runs on the trott GFS has pepped up another area of snow for the southeast at ~ 72-78.

Also prior to that after the front dies there may just be enough convection for a thames streamer-

S

now that is the best news I have heard all week

But noted you only said maybe Steve

Looking very decent for Eastern Kent today by the looks of the showers out that way, draw a line from Herne Bay to Dymchurch and this area could have an early surprise today.

Steve I first noticed that brief East North Easterly on last nights Fax Charts as well, looks like a Thames Snow Streamer a very real opportunity (A brief One at 6-10 hours) but thats all it needs.

Why do you say that, what evidence do you bring to that assumption?

HOW MUCH SNOW DO YOU WANT???!!!!

Was based on the front being held back by the block, so expected a covering, but not as heavy as previously progged. However, have just seen the upgrade, so proves it's changing every run.

And how much snow do I want? As much as the falls from the classics please. Think Jan 87 was the deepest I've seen in London although Feb 91 ran it close.

Wow -5.6 at 6.00am now +2.3 and going up fast! ice melting fast, anyone else got this happening... +2.5 now lol DEW 1.8

You sure we've still got a hard frost and no sign of it melting here in Dartford vs the road? Is your thermometer in direct sunlight? You should be 1-2c colder than this urban location

I know it's four whole days away but would snow become marginal when the -5 air is north of us or could this be an 'entrenched cold' situation where -2 air would be fine?

Chances of GFS 12z correcting the Precip further West with the Block Holding out ?? Who Knows atm not even the Meto

Place your bets and I will collate them all and see who were the winners and losers

Precip Back West (Downgrade) = 4/6

Precip Further East or stays the Same = 5/4

Come on then show us what you feel, could be fun at 430pm

Going with Precip back further West for me at 4/6 Fav

If you look on the rain today site it looks like that snow area in the estuary is spining.

can a small low be forming there.

Maybe we can call it the kent spinner.

I'm not sure what forecast you are looking at - have just checked the forecast for Lewisham in SE London, not far from you, and it is showing a mixture of light snow and even heavy snow right through Friday afternoon and into Saturday... Which

I think may be an upgrade from yesterday.

went by the bbc news weather site with latest forecast at 6:50 this morning, so unless they didnt have the latest outputs of data i dont know...anyway we will see

Ok so we already have 3 for the further west, tonbridgemole on the 5/4 shot and a new bet of 12/1 snow stays exclusively south of the estuary for Mr Murr

The 6Z and 18Z GFS are notorious for having things more east than actually happens?

12Z and 0Z are the ones I take more seriously

Prediction - precip back west by 50-100 miles
