Snow has been quite heavy again here over the past 30 minutes, I'd say were at about 8 cm , it hasn't stopped since 9am ....that's now 7 1/2 hours of non stop snow

I also have 8 cm, though I'd say it's continuous snow since about 8.15

Well it's snowing heavier now in Ashford then it has all afternoon! Atleast everything is white now and hopefully a few more light flurries overnight will be enough for the children to have a little play.

Jacyces, I've got to come through S.Norwood to get back to Anerley from Croydon. Would you like a ruling! laugh.png

Cheers,

Tom.

Btw, mate, sounds like you've got a bit of a lead on Steve Murr, I think he might need a Thames streamer that fades before the London border!

Cheers,

Tom.

We had snow from 9ish till 3 in Bromley. About 4-5cm on untreated roads.

I work in bexleyheath, where a lot less has settled. Prob 2-3cm.

Any further snow due till 3am?

Ahh an Argyle fan.

No snow in Southend. But game still postponed!

Couldn't make it up.

kaddy is certain the front will hit east kent over night so all not lost!!!

at least ill get to the pub safely later!!!

Problem is no one else seems to agree with her, latest BBC forcast has little action over us for tonight and tomorrow.

If showers do develope they normally miss Thanet, plus Sunday looks iffy.

rant over. temp -0.2c

Hi Dan,

Could you (or others) explain the relevance of the vorticity chart. I remember what vorticity is (thanks to an Aerodynamics degree) but am not sure of its meteorological relevance? Any explanation gratefully received! :)

Lol thanks for that I think Darren

The fact nobody to my south or south east has any snowcover for this airflow to pass over pushes the confidence level down from 25% to 20% rofl.gifaggressive.gif

The rest of you should be okay though! Pmsl

Anyhow thats me done until later tomorrow and then will check charts and model forecasts to see how we are faring, hoping for a good outcome!

Laters!

You will have snow lying before Sunday there will be showers from North Sea tomorrow

Thinking a Thames streamer is a real possiblity come tomorrow guys. BBC will not show this on maps as it is a very tough one to call however if it hits my god will you know about it.

I'm starting to think the same thing! The NMM has a streamer across many of the Medway towns throughout the day tomorrow, I'm waiting for the 12z NMM to update to see whether or not it still shows it

To be fair to BBC they have been pretty accurate and if East Kent and Essex get a bit this evening and tonight i would give them about 8/10 for their forecast.Be interesting to see mr (if this doesn't say cockroft when referring to a bbc forecaster, I have maturity issues) Cockcrofts forecast tonight!!Wonder if he will even mention potential snow event for Sunday??
