Hi Gord, think its just a bit of natural daytime warming, noticed it in the past in snowy days that temp creeps up a bit around lunchtime and snow doesn't settle as well.

Not sure what to make of the weather today, will it head north and along with it the worst of the snow or will it continue to push westwards and we end up with far more than the forecast suggests???

Time will tell blum.gif

That's the key isn't it? So far, we are within the forecasted amounts of 2cm, so if it moved away now, we would have got what we expected...but you can see the potential for more.

Thanks for the answer...also Stourport sorry, Bewdley! where the report was from is fairly low down in comparison.

Getting much heavier out there and the wind is gusting.

Heavy snow here roads dont look good, whats the bet that the bus service stops again like friday strangely though the snow now is actually heavier than any time on friday its looking good for the midlands.

Heavier now here, but still small flakes. Tom Shaff on Countryfile Weekly forecast did not mention this region at all for the whole weekly forecast!!!!, massive SE bias again taking hold, what a surprise !.

Central Bewdley is down around the 20-30m mark, but I'm on the edge of town at around 90m. I'd guess it might even be sleety rain in the town centre. Still 1.3 °C... I really need some of the slightly heavier stuff to get here, or for the precip to retreat and the air to become colder again.

The snizzle has slowed right down now and it's not keeping pace with the thaw. The tarmac on the drive that had a new covering this morning is beginning to melt, as is the covering on the car,

Dew point has risen from -1 to 0. Shawbury showing an air temp of +1 now and dew point of 0.

Maybe as Bish says, just a midday upward spike in temps,

Enjoy your snow again today! Looks like light to moderate snow for those who have it for most of the day now. :)

Still a risk of sleet/snow here tonight too! I look forward to seeing what happens! :)

Up to 1.5 °C here, despite slightly heavier snizzle. A definite thaw, so I hope it doesn't last long. I'd much rather travel tomorrow in snow than half-melted, refrozen slush!

Been snowing in Shrewsbury to varying degrees for almost 3 hours

Settled well initially, been melting for the last 1.5 hours though.

It's forecast to get heavier later so hopefully will settle but everywhere is soaking wet

Temperature at 0.9 Celsius

Snow is still falling well

Maybe start sticking soon

Drifts in rare places at 10 inches

Max depth about 2/3 inches widely 1cm

It's definitely pivoting. If it keeps going, it's going to start picking up moisture from the Wash and add that into the mix!

Not sure it's going to pivot in time to get the heavy stuff to our east here though.
