Well the light snow that fell earlier has melted on car windows etc. Although icicles are still growing. Are temps going to drop ?

No thaw here at all,current temp -1c,icicles still solid on shed roof

WRONG, no way will the thaw even begin to kick in until at least Wednesday, so stop worrying!

Just looked. Temps are at 1 degree, set to get no higher than 0 tomorrow. Could explain why

I've got a feeling that south Yorkshire isn't going to do too well in this particular event. It seems very light and patchy inland with the main precip hugging the coastline.

Temps should start dropping away later this afternoon, seeing as your well inland i wouldn't worry too much, its those close to the coast <10-15 miles that it becomes more marginal.

Latest forecast is cracking especially for norther parts of our region. Heavy snow tonight, possibly lasting most of tommorow lol.

Yes and the fact that it's reaching as far west as wales is very promising.

Just wait till the strengthening easterly picks up when the snow moves in, should carry a lot of extra moisture in from the north sea!

Should be ok once the MAIN band of precip arrives, ahead of this the light stuff may well start of as rain, if we can maintain a decent return rate on the radar then i think we'll be ok. Obviously further inland shouldn't be much of a problem.

This is my early estimations of where the heaviest snow will fall.

Red zone: 10-20cm

Orange zone:7-15cm

Yellow zone: Inland 3-6cm, coast - Dusting to 3cm.
