There's about a cm on the car, but any cleared concrete surfaces are wet.

0.7/-0.3 light snow here, small accumulations overnight.

Any signs that conditions will start to allow it to accumulate later on IF?

It looks less marginal after 12:00, so I suppose we might get some accumulations later.

Laughable event. Saw the radar, thought "has to be epic, it's inevitable", and it's put maybe a further 2-3cm down.

Snowing quite well right now, no more snow than at about 3am.

After near enough constant precip (fading away in the afternoon hrs)- this trough activity moves in from the SE overnight and we look in prime position for it.. the hi-res EC has got a grip of it in this morning's output. That would be some very heavy precip (sleet and snow) for those under it- and it seems to hover near, around and over us all evening. NMM has it instilled in its output as well.

Expect some heavy/moderate sleet and snow today, before slowing petering out in the afternoon- still with some heavy bursts. Treacherous conditions for many with strong winds, blowing snow and accumulating snow away from inner cities and the coastline. Take care.

After reading all the reports from down south as well as looking at the charts I am going to call this as a sleet and snow mix at my location with no accumulation. We will know if I'm right in the morning!

The talk of 20cm + is a distant memory

It's one of the biggest fails in recent memory. Honestly thought I'd be waking up to something significant, not a couple cms wet snow.

  • April 2024 - Was it that cold overall? A look at the statistics

General perception from many is that April was a cold month, but statistics would suggest otherwise, with the average temperature for the whole month coming in just above the 30 year average for the UK as a whole.
