As its stands at the minute, i cart see my part of boro getting any fresh snow, the snow showers are not heavy or persistent enough and the wind is blowing like hell.

Still have a fair amount of snow and ice lying though, so if we do see a decent shower there's something to build on lol.

Horizontal snow now on a strengthening easterly. It needn't think it's blowing through town without landing, like.

What's the radar showing nick, im only on my mobile.

Lots of heavy stuff to come tonight and throughout today - persistent as well. Rain and sleet for the coast, mostly snow inland and with elevation- some lucky spots are looking at a ft of fresh snow accumulations over the next 24 hrs.

I am getting more snow than rain here at the coast but not sticking yet...

Just as I go to bed- I'm getting wet sleety snow down here in North Yorkshire and no accumulations, although the heavier stuff is just moving over now and has produced numerous reports of falling temperatures and lying snow. I have a nagging feeling that even in my inland location I might wake up to slush and ice and an aggregate snow depth no greater than I've had today, but there is the chance of a dumping if the temperature falls enough under the heavier snow. The same assessment will apply to inland parts of the "far north" region, upwards of about 10 miles inland from the coast. Near the coast I think slush and ice are guaranteed as the winds off the North Sea will restrict evaporative cooling under the heavier precipitation.

Moderate sleety snow in Boro still, all very frustrating.

You've pretty much destroyed all hope for most places in the NE seeing snow considering your quite far inland!

It'll be interesting to see whether much of NE England sees snow considering places like York a good 40 miles inland are seeing a wintry mixture with an ever decreasing snow cover.

Cheers nick, isolated.

Showers have definitely intensified and i can tell you if im been totally honest its a mixture of snow and rain, im just a tad to close to the coast by the looks of it, if the wind wasn't so strong i may have had a few cms but nevermind.

Fingers crossed for use though.
